Communication Navigation Identification (CNI) Demonstration - TRW

MODEL YEAR 0 - BASELINE CNI PROTOTYPE
  • Purpose: Demonstrate that the RASSP technology reduces cost and development time for Comanche CNI
    • Rehost the DICE (previous DARPA program) CNI virtual prototype to RASSP design environment
    • Incorporate F-22 waveforms for UHF/VHF, MARK XII, and TACAN
    • Virtual prototype built at different abstraction levels to accommodate LLSP, KOVX, CCU, waveform and control software, and security design maturities
    • VP completed
MODEL YEAR 2 - COMANCHE/JOINT ADVANCED STRIKE TECHNOLOGY (JAST)
  • Quadruple the capability of the terminal to add functionality: HF, SINCGARS, HQ, EPLRS, MLS, Link 4, AWW, Milstar, and ILS
  • Continuously insert digital technology upgrades to meet size, weight, power constraints
  • Demonstrate reusable library components through retargeting from F-22 baseline to Comanche
MODEL YEAR 1 - F-22 GROWTH
  • Add constant source and spread spectrum capability
  • Migrate receiver functions from analog to digital to improve the system's reliability, manufacturability, and flexibility
  • Fabricate subset of virtual prototype
  • Effort stopped in favor of an Integrated Sensor System demonstration
  • All demo efforts stopped due to DARPA redirection
