Signal Processor Fine Grain Control Research

TECHNICAL OBJECTIVES
  • Develop an approach to enable fine grain control of multiprocessor signal processing applications to enable rapid response to changing modes and conditions

GOALS
  • Domain co-simulation to enable

PROBLEM
  • Token level control logic tightly couples FSM-DFG simulation, execution, and code generation
  • Contrast with loosely coupled Command Program FSM and DFG Application
  • DFG syntax awkwardly represents control logic (spaghetti graphs)

STATUS
PTOLEMY PROJECT
  • Design and implementation methods for complex realtime systems
  • Heterogeneous use of domain specific models of computation
  • Hardware-software codesign
  • Ptolemy software environment
